Announcing Pantone's 2020 Color of the Year
For more than 20 years, at the end of each year, the Pantone Color Institute selects a color to represent the upcoming year. The Color of the Year influences interior design, fashion, art, advertising and sets the tone for many other industries.
Cue drum roll, please!
Pantone’s 2020 color of the year is ….. PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue.
Not only is PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue a timeless color, but it is a calming start for a new era. The hue is much different than the bold and energizing colors of previous years (Living Coral in 2019 and Ultra Violet in 2018).
According to the paint company, classic blue aims to instill “calm, confidence, and connection.” This blue hue “highlights our desire for a dependable and stable foundation on which to build as we cross the threshold into a new era.”
The company announced that 2020’'s color is reminiscent of "the sky at dusk" and “brings a sense of peace and tranquility.”
